Choosing the right international school goes far beyond simply comparing websites and reading brochures. Finding the right place for your child to succeed means considering many different factors.
To make the best decision, we look closely at:
The Edualist Advantage
With over 20 years of education experience and the firsthand knowledge of an expat mom who has moved her family across five countries, we know how to help. We turn the stressful process of moving abroad into a clear, simple plan—so your family feels supported and your child starts their new school with confidence.
We approach international school processes with both the expertise of an educator and the sensitivity of a mother who has raised two children abroad.
We strike the delicate balance between parent expectations, school capacity, and student reality to target the most effective learning environment.
We support students through school interviews and admission tests (CAT4, BCAT, etc.) with a structured preparation process to secure school acceptance.
Özlem Çimen
Education Professional | Parent-Student Coach | Expat Mother
For over 20 years, I served as an English teacher, department head, and school administrator at some of Turkey’s most prestigious private schools, including TED Istanbul College, ENKA Schools, and Istanbul International Community School (IICS). I trained in IB programs and had the privilege of guiding hundreds of students.
But when life took my own family on an international relocation journey, I encountered the other side of the coin: being a parent.
When it was time to choose schools for my own children, despite all my experience in education, I found myself completely overwhelmed. Questions like "Where do I start? How do the applications work? How will my children adapt to this new system?" kept me awake at night — just as they might be doing for you right now.
Experience-Backed Confidence
Throughout our international relocation journey, my children and I gained educational experience across different countries, cultures, and school systems. My daughter began her education at the age of four at Singapore International School and later continued in the French education system across four different countries. During our time in Baku, following the closure of the French School, she transferred to TISA where she received English-language education through the IB MYP curriculum; she simultaneously continued her French education through homeschooling via CNED, affiliated with the French Ministry of Education. My son began primary school in Myanmar, continued his education at well-established schools in Istanbul and Baku, and is now successfully pursuing the IBDP program at GEMS Dubai American Academy.
Living and studying across five countries taught our family that finding the right school and educational pathway is not a problem to be solved with a one-size-fits-all approach. Every child is different, and finding the right academic environment requires careful guidance, understanding, and a personalized approach.

“As an educator and a mother of two, I understand how important and emotional international school decisions can be for families. I founded Edualist to guide families through this journey with clarity, empathy and practical experience.”

Edualist serves Turkish families relocating to Dubai & UAE, Canada, UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, and Singapore — providing school selection and education transition consulting for each destination.
Edualist is built on lived experience, not theory. Founder Özlem Çimen is both a 20+ year education professional and an expat mother who schooled her children across 5 countries. This dual perspective — educator and parent — helps families not just choose a school, but feel confident entering the process.
The first step is a free initial consultation where Özlem evaluates the child's profile, family expectations, and target country.
